Mark 12:30 "Love the Lord your God with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."
Good morning all,
Still in Cambodia and it's my last day. Sara King has left to go back to the Guangzhou mission team. I was not sure what I must do today and then an opportunity arose for me to help out at the hospital with editing some doctor's reports. It is a completely new experience for me but an eye opener. As a whole I have learned so much just being here as it has made me realise so many things about my character and how much more I need to work on loving the lost and the poor and those that are close to me in the kingdom. Sara and I had a great time travelling together to Amgkor which is a 6 hour bus ride for the past 3 days from Phnom Penh (which is the capital city where the church meets and where the HOPE centres are). Travelling with someone always reveal what is in our character and to learn to be unselfish and love what that person wishes to do too. God always gives us new opportunities to change.
This scripture really impacted my heart. Gerlinda a mature disciple who I really click well with as we have similar outgoing personalities had a great prayer time today before she went to work. I realise that we can set many goals for 2011 but the most important for me is to keep this core value to love God with all my heart so that I can work on loving those around me not in my strength but with the strength that God provides. I learned that if all else fails in my life do I still lean on God's love to pull me through those tough times? When people let me down or disappoint me do I still keep close to God and recognise that my security is completely in God?
It's great to hear that Joey will go on the retreat camp. I really wanted to be there and I called Dragonair again when I was here to double check if there were any empty seats available but there was none. I am content to stay here one more night and have the countdown with some local disciples, it should be loads of fun.
Look forward to returning tomorrow and catching up with all of you again.
Hope Cat had a wonderful birthday party and thanks to Annie and Daniel to devote their time and effort to organise it. Yes love does mean giving up our time which is so precious in God's sight.
Hope you get better Eva and look forward to learning some Cantonese from you and welcome you to stay at our place for the month of January and part of February.
Love you all,
Shelley-bean
