Romans 5
Peace and Hope
1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we[c] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
4 忍 耐 生 老 練 , 老 練 生 盼 望 ;
5 盼 望 不 至 於 羞 恥 , 因 為 所 賜 給 我 們 的 聖 靈 將 神 的 愛 澆 灌 在 我 們 心 裡 。
Morning everyone!
Another windy and chilly day please take care of yourself!
Reading the above scriptures (one of my favourites helps me a lot especially when I was in downtime). Recently lots of news about illness... Joel, who live in Mawan,left the church when she's in Canada and now she's considering coming back to church again, called me this morning as her dad is hospitialized due to liver malfunctioned and the only hope is to do the liver-transplant and Joel would donate her liver to her dad if it happens. She's quite worried as doctor is still checking the condition of her dad if he's ok to have the transplant. Also her university friend was just diagnosed of lung cancer and she doesn't know how to comfort her friend.....
Life is short and it is tough, what gives us hope to continue to live our life to the full is to understand God's plan. and we need to understand through all these life suffering we have picked up something, something that we can learn from it, as it produces perserverance. then through perserverance, character, once we have godly character it produces hope and it doesn't put us to shame. I am glad that I've been Xian for over 13 years and I have the peace with God no matter it is ups or downs, so that I am able to comfort and encourage others.
Another news from Mimi as her dad is still in ICU in critical condition and her wishes is to hope her dad leave peacefully but not to suffer from pain anymore.
Wish all of us can get hold of every opportunity to give thanks to our Lord, to learn how to have hope in life and to understand God's plan so that we can live a peaceful life!!!
Love
Brenda
